If it’s peace you want, then let your thoughts rest on God-things

Be Seekers of Peace

I do a lot of driving. When I'm on a road on a daily basis and discover the obstacles, like traffic or other road hazards, is only getting worse, I begin thinking of alternate routes with fewer, if any, issues. In our lives, we should be wary of those who bring all the drama and none of the peace. Likewise for those whose words are only contrary to God's.

Keep Your Peace

If we desire peace in our lives, it starts with us. We have the opportunity each day to determine what is acceptable in our space. Be more intentional about being particular about the who and the what when it comes to your lifestyle. You'll find that the more you seek peace, the more you'll find it.

Let Jesus Handle It

There is no peace like God's peace. If you are struggling with the weight of your worries and frustrations, why not truly release those things into God's care? In doing so, you can enjoy the rest and the peace he provides. The certainty that you are well cared for.

Be A Carrier of Peace

I've often reminded my loved ones that Satan does not need help from us in causing chaos. That becomes increasingly clear when you look at how practically no populated surface in the world is untouched when it comes to hatred. As children of God, we need to be more intentional about being keepers of peace.

Be the Peacekeeper

We're advised in the scriptures about the importance of obedience. It's one thing to receive directives. But when we learn the right thing to do and make morally positive choices, it should be discomforting to do anything contrary. It is a more peaceable way of life.

Always On My Mind

Growing up in church, I'd often hear scriptures like 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (pray without ceasing, KJV) quoted. I would often wonder how I could do that when there were so many other things to do. School, studying, homework, etc. Should I not be doing those things and instead be at home praying 24/7? As I grew, both physically and spiritually, I began to understand that when I embrace this faith as a part of my lifestyle, then it becomes natural to have Christ on my mind in all things. Whether I'm bowling, mall strolling with friends, or watching a movie, something clicks and shifts my mind to heavenly things. Therein is the peace that I should desire every moment.

Power of Peaceful Living

My mindset has a major impact on my daily living. What I think and feel are that essential. Think about how something like hunger can impact our mood and the clarity of our thinking. The same can be said of frustrations and worries. They can monopolize our thoughts and suddenly we lose control. Saying things we shouldn't and regret. Treating people unkindly. So how I think is vital, not only for me and my spirit, but for my relationship with others.

Let God Handle It

Remind yourself on a daily basis that the adversary is busy and does not need your help. Don't allow him to use you against you or against anyone else. When you find yourself facing off against those fiery darts and arrows, continue to remember that this is a battle that has already been won. Don't be so quick to respond to negativity. Sometimes, silence is the best answer.

Ain't No Peace Like God's Peace

I remember a few years ago when I was having a really hard time mentally. I stepped outside of the Sunday morning worship service and sat outside, seeking that one-on-one time with God. In tears and pouring out my heart, I remember this feeling of absolute calm settling over me. Like that hug just when you need it. That's what we need to remember about our Father. He cares and he's concerned about us. Really cast your cares on him and grab hold of his peace.

Let God Be Your Source

When we are faced with trouble, which many times feels like it's just one obstacle after another, it seems like the easier solution is to give up. Why bother continuing to forge ahead when it seems like the only thing waiting is yet another obstacle? The comfort comes in knowing that God alone can breathe life into what seems like a dead situation. When many others count you out, God is still on your side.

Daily Peace

A verse that I always pair with thoughts of peace is Philippians 4:8. When I'm in need of peace and an opportunity to reset and recenter, I've learned that there is no other solution than to think on the things of God. When life seems off balance with no clear path in sight of my ship righting itself, God is my answer. That is a sure way of putting all your cards on the table. Talk things over in your time of prayer with the only one who truly does know and understand.

Hold Your Peace
